Week 10: Friday / Last Day

On every course the best part is always having the opportunity to share experiences with colleagues but during this course it has been even more than that. I have never experienced such a joy of sharing and discussing with colleagues as here during these (hard) 10 weeks.

I used to think I knew how to survive with my computer skills but it has been awakening to notice how much there is still to learn. Of course, that could be depressing but on the contrary I feel happy. Why? The answer is simple: I’m not too old to learn new things!!!
I find it useful to know how to create a blog, or even create a site for a whole group or even a blog for every English course and every Swedish course. And every time I start anew I can update the blogs. I find that quite attempting. The blog is not the only new issue that I find useful, it just came to my mind sitting here reading other participants’ great blogs and updating mine. Everything taught to us during this course has been done for a reason, they are useful great tools and what’s the best they are FREE, just take them into use.

It will take some time to digest this all and I’m quite sure no one can immediately start using it all but in due time we shall find out where and how we can make our teaching (even) better and the students get (even more) interested in their studies.

I want to thank everyone who made this experience worthwhile. I have really loved this journey. And I’m sure we’ll meet some time somewhere.

Take care, my dear international friends and colleagues!

  1. Dear Sinikka,

It's been quite a long journey, and I'm surprised how close I feel to you all despite this being a virtual course. I've learned a lot from you and our other co-participants. Once again, thank you so much for sharing great things with us, and I wish you all the best.

Just like you, I'm also sure we'll meet again sometime somewhere!

  2. Dear Sinikka

As you said we learnt so many new things indeed and this course has really shown us a path to bring technology in the classroom. And I completely agree it will certainly take some time to digest but once the right time comes and we use, the learners will be certainly interested in it to learn more.

Finally, yes even if we wind up this course, we will be always together since we all want to learn from each other sharing the new insights.

  3. Dear Sinikka,

It's funny. I have just left a comment in Vita's blog, telling her how lucky she is that she will have these fantastic tools with her for all her professional life. I told her how we had books and tapes and photocopiers only. And here you are now, reminding me that we are not too old to learn. Isn't it great that we have lived to see this during our professional life? And that we still have the curiosity to experiment and the willingness to change as teachers?

I think you did great in the course, especially since you had the flu. I had my last flu in 1997 and it scared me so much that I have been getting flu shots ever since.

    Let's keep learning together.
