Saturday morning:
I'm so confused I don't have an English group for my project after all. I asked for volunteers and so far I've received one affirmitive answer and one with 'thank you but no, thanks, too busy'.
And I'm still (!) struggling on the issue of planning a lesson on literature or writing essays or even both.
Saturday 22:44 Finnish time:
Now I finally finished writing my plan for a lesson and using technology enhancing it. I'm not very happy because I haven't got any affirmitive answers from my students to my e-mails searching for volunteers. I have only Swedish lessons this period and it would of course be natural to have an English lesson instead. But let's keep our fingers crossed maybe I'll manage to persuade at least half a dozen participants to my Literary Circles as I call my lesson. I want to try and make them read more (or at least just read) in English.
Again I have to quote the famous writer: " The man who doesn't read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read" (Mark Twain)
A challenge? YES
Hi Sinikka,
ReplyDeleteI sympathize with you completely in your search for volunteers. I feel the same as I still haven't even met the majority of my students. Still, somehow we need to believe that everything will turn out fine in the end.
Dear Sinikka,
ReplyDeleteI love your quote.
I also share you on the technology-enhanced lesson plan. I did it several times and I did not satisfy with my job. It sounds bad to myself.
But I was happy to recognize that for the best sake of the students, if we, from time to time, do not satisfy with what we are offering, the quality of each lesson seems to be better. It's so nice knowing we are sticking together to do the teaching and learning more effectively.
Dear friends,
ReplyDeletethank you for your comments. It's awesome to know how someone out there somewhere understands how we feel ;-)
